    Published on Jun 22, 2015. Welcome to the famous Harperman video, a protest song against the Conservative government of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. We’ve just held a cross-Canada sing-a-long of Harperman on September 17, a month before the Canadian federal election on October 19. Sing along with us or get your friends and sing your hearts out together. The song lyrics and details of the cross-Canada singalongs and other events are posted at www.harperman.ca
    Harperman is written and performed by Ottawa folksinger Tony Turner. Tony got his inspiration from an article in a social justice newsletter and added to the list to create a toe-tapping participation song of protest. This video was recorded in a live session on 12 June 2015 and features Tony Turner on guitar and lead vocal, with Ann Downey on upright bass. Thanks to impressario and project manager Chris White for organizing this impromptu choir, the Crowd of Well Wishers, on short notice. Sound recording is by j sonier. Video recording is by Andrew Hall and Matthew Hall. Video and sound mixing is by Andrew Hall, who produced this live recording. Subtitles file prepared by Per Bovbjerg. It includes a verse about a certain ex-senator from PEI and thanks to Katherine Palmateer, Doris Martinello and Suzanne Townsend for inspiration and a line or two for the second, third and fourth verses, respectively. Also thanks to Auri Frattura for his excellent electric lead guitar. Video features scenic views of ShelburneCounty including RosewayBeach, Black Loyalist Landing in Birtchtown, and Shelburne Waterfront.
