For the second (though not consecutive) spring, a squirrel has managed to have babies on me. They must’ve been born during the blizzard, as I’ve been hyper-vigilant @ every other time. This morning I noticed a pile of (carpet?) fibres heaped inside a plant pot, and underneath were what Anna would call pinkies – newborn mammals.
I once found same (mice?) shifting compost in the spring, but these are in a pot ATOP A TABLE. I don’t know how many b/c I quickly covered them up again (even agonising over whether or not I did a good enough job).
